Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art and combat sport based on ground fighting and submission holds. BJJ focuses on the skill of taking an opponent to the ground, controlling one's opponent, gaining a dominant position, and using a number of tehcniques to force them into submission via joint locks or choke holds. -a wiki definition

A TYPICAL 1 HR CLASS:

1. Solo or partner warmup
These include light warm-up drills you can do on your own or with your partners. Some examples would be break fall, shrimping, grip breaking, bear crawl, cart wheels, etc.

2. Technical training
You will partner up and practice technique work in a controlled manner and setting. Coach will walk around the class and correct students' form and technique.

3. Rolling
Students are to practice their technique in a live situation. If you are new you will likely be asked to go with someone more advance and keep intensity low so that you can practice and apply your technique.
